Fancy Dining~

Humanity’s need to ceremonialize specific dates never ceased to confuse Neliel, and most recently the concept of ‘Valentines Day’, while endearing, seems unusual and outlandish. Not that a lack of information would actually prevent her from participating in the ‘Valentines game’.

Her ‘heart’ —which in reality was a molded piece of chocolate— had been ‘stolen’ by Captain Byakuya Kuchiki. It would have been a lie for her to say that his claim was unexpected. It was only several weeks after their introduction to the other that they began what Rangiku called ‘flirting’, and After several months, their acquaintanceship developed into something that could vaguely be described as an unorthodox relationship.

Neliel opens the note as she steps out of the garganta, glancing over the elegant slant once more, if anything, to be sure she had traveled to the correct location. She peevishly tugs at the hem of her black silk dress.

While donning a gigai was never comfortable, Nel found it pointless in her case—despite the form hiding her mask and facial markings., the gigai’s hair remained the same shade of aqua as its owner’s, earning her strange looks regardless.

A faint sigh passes her lips as she advanced through the park, her heels clicking quietly against the cobblestones beneath her feet. Any feelings of anxiety or other apprehensions were removed from her thoughts, this was Bya-kun she was talking about, there was no reason to be nervous.

She spots her date as she reaches the clearing, sighing in relief and quickly making towards the fountain where he sat.

” There you are, Bya-kun, good evening!”

As she came toward him, he stood up and stared in awe at his date. Her black silk dress did wonders for her already beautiful self, and Byakuya could not deny that she was simply gorgeous.

“Good evening, Neliel~”

Always the gentleman, however, he was able to keep his eyes up at hers..

“You look so lovely tonight, thank you for meeting me here…”

Byakuya was a little choked up inwardly, what was he to do next? Oh, but remember, this is no ordinary man, this was the ambiguous captain who was supposed to be flawless at everything.

‘So stop making a fool of yourself.’

After self berating, he released her hands and held out a folded arm, elbow pointed toward her, gesturing for her to take it. It was time to show her just how much her presence has helped him develop again since fifty years ago… His lips turned into a crooked (sexy) smile and pierced her large eyes with his own.

“Shall we~?”

He does well in veiling his anxiety with chivalry, but she still succeeds in catching the small revealing flicker in his eye. Neliel vaguely remembers a certain shinigami telling her to ‘go easy’ on the poor Captain. She giggles quietly at the memory, looping her arm around his,

 “ Lead the way!”

They meander towards the restaurant in a comfortable silence; neither knowing what to discuss, yet enjoying the company of the other all the same. During that short walk, Nel takes the opportunity to gaze around at the scenery. Once before had she heard of the country called ‘Italy’, and now that she could clearly observe and judge for herself, she decided that the previous description given to her did absolutely no justice. Byakuya had done an extraordinary job planning this date. Nel was thoroughly impressed.

She breaks from her reverie, turning her head back to her quiet date, “This place is beautiful. Have you traveled here before?”
